Edwin Byatt 1888-1948
Edwin Byatt was an outstanding artist working mainly in watercolour. Like many artists of his day, despite receiving commercial commissions, amongst which were some of the railway carriage pictures that were published as prints by the Railways and used to hang under the luggage rack in each carriage, he found it difficult to make a living solely as an artist. He worked for many years for a printing company as a lithographer, retouching printing plates. It was for this printer that he produced this wonderful set of flower prints |
