Artist: Dorothy Hardy

Dorothy Hardy op. 1908-1925  is recorded as living at long eaton in derbyshire in 1925. She illustrated children's books and produced a number of hunting chromolithograph hunting prints in a similar vein to Cecil Aldin. A number of her prints were published with french titles so either she worked for a French publisher from England or she spent time working in France. I would like to imagine she married a romantic Frenchman, moving to France and that is why we seem to loose track of her in England at such an early date. Her English prints were published by one of the leading sporting publishers of the day Lawrence and Jellicoe. I have not had the opportunity to see who published the French ones. Any more information about her would be appreciated.
