| Linda lives with her husband, a landscape gardener and one small daughter in the beautiful Great Fryup Dale in the heart of the North Yorkshire Moors, and divides her time between her horses, dog, sheep and painting. She also manages to squeeze in a little badminton as a hobby.
Largely self taught, Linda works mainly in watercolour and oils, painting subjects close to her heart, animals, birds and the varied landscape of the North Yorkshire Moors. She is a member of the local art society and the Eskvale painting group, exhibiting her work locally and staging the occasional joint exhibition with other local artists. Her fellow artists were a little shocked when she first joined the group as she insisted on using a dead mouse for reference, however, all was quickly forgiven when they realised the quality of the finished work that this strict attention to detail led to. In those early days she became known as the Bee Lady because of several highly detailed studies of bees that she produced.
It is, however, her love of painting dogs that takes up the greater part of her time, a considerable amount of her work coming from pet commissions. It was this love that eventually led her to send some examples of her work to Sally Mitchell. She now has several limited edition prints as well as several greetings cards after her work, which can be purchased through Sally Mitchell Fine Arts.
