Those who know me will be aware that my first love was early sporting art and many years ago I wrote the dictionary of British Sporting Artists. My other passion is collecting antique horse equipment. For this purpose I scan dozens of auction rooms every week. Of course I have seen lots of interesting sporting prints and paintings in these auctions and my son has decided to allow me to indulge myself in once more dealing in early pieces as well as producing our wonderful living artists. I will try to add illustrations of recent purchases as frequently as possible. My priorities in buying are quality of art work and interest of subject. If you would like to pop in and see what we have in stock you would be very welcome. Our gallery at Tuxford is very easy to find, just one minute off the A1 and we are the last two shops on the left if you are coming from the South or the first two on the right from the North. Tuxford, though once an important coaching stop on the Great North Road is really now only a one street village. There is an excellent coffee shop two doors away, and interesting things to see, including a two man 18thC prison, a hand-cart museum and a working windmill. Why not make an afternoon of it!
