Giclee Edition, black labrador retriever limited edition print limited to 395 copies worldwide. Hand numbered then checked and signed by the artist . John Trickett is probably the foremost painter of black Labradors in the world, certainly in England. He was the first artist to have black labrador prints published in offset photo litho printing back in the early 1980s. Prior to this such prints as Maude Earl\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s had been produced in an earlier form of stone lithography. Now Johns Labrador prints together with all his other prints are produced in modern Giclee fine art digital printing using the most advanced fine art reproduction scanner available in the world, a scanner that is used by the leading museums of the world.
This type of printing gives a much deeper strength of colour as well as far greater subtlties of tone. It enables us to reproduce prints even more accurately than we did before with the old offset methods that had their limitations in fine art work. John is particularly fond of painting Labrador Retrievers, they being one of his favourite breeds of dog and one that he has constantly around him. Not only is he very observant of the dogs themselves but his eye for colour, atmosphere and composition combine in producing some of the finest labrador retriever prints ever published. John\\\\\\\'s original paintings are also very highly thought of and the record price for his work was a painting sold through Christies Auction rooms in London which together with the buyer\\\\\\\'s commission made almost ?10,000. John accepts a few commissions each year but there is always a waiting list so if you plan to have your dog painted for an aniversary present or other important date do allow plenty of time. A year in advance is advisable although he sometimes makes special exceptions and slips an emergency one in, but we are still looking at several months. If you want further details please contact us.
