Charles 'Snaffles' Johnson Payne 1884 - 1967 was an English Sporting artist of considerable renown, probably best known for his humorous work. An outstanding draughtsman and painter of Horses, he was widely published and has been the backbone of many private collections!

Condition is as you would expect to see, some foxing and discolouration but overall the colour is quite good.  It is sold as seen in its original frame which is a little beaten up.  It could easily be re-framed if required.
